Programmer Analyst (Application Developer)

The State University Construction Fund is responsible for managing the funding and procurement for academic construction projects at the thirty two state owned SUNY campuses. Translation: We build the classrooms of tomorrow to provide the best learning environment at the largest public university system in the United States. In this role, you will be part of a dynamic, agile team that is responsible for designing, developing and implementing applications to support the many functions within the Fund.

Specific Duties and Functions:

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements gathering and definition, design, development, implementation, creation/maintenance of unit testing and documentation of work
  • Develop complex SQL queries to support the development and implementation of the assigned projects
  • Participate in functional / integration test planning for the assigned projects
  • Participate in problem solving for assigned applications or projects
  • Work within a team to deliver quality and coordinated business functions

Qualifications and Experience Requirements: 

A Bachelor's degree, preferably in information technology or business, and 2 years' experience in application development is required. Four additional years of related experience can be substituted for Bachelor's degree. Candidates should have experience in Windows-based web business application environment. Familiarity with SQL, Object Oriented development languages and Javascript is desired. Excellent written and verbal skills required.
