The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Renovate University Library project at State University of New York at Albany. The University Library, constructed in 1966, is a 291,291 GSF, five-story building. The building serves as the primary campus library and has not undergone a major renovation since its original construction. The building systems and components are at the end of their useful lives and in poor condition. The Project will provide a comprehensive renovation of University Library. Renovations will include replacement of all interior finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements. The project will include an analysis of energy efficient mechanical systems and may include geothermal. The project will also include an embedded program study that will identify the program and inform the design of the University Library renovation and evaluate the Science Library and Hawley Library for potential consolidation of space within University Library.
