The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Roofs – Various Podium Buildings project at the State University of New York at Albany. The project includes replacing the roof on multiple buildings. The Life Sciences Building, constructed in 2002, is a 180,000 GSF, three-story building that houses biology, chemistry and medical science programs. The Performing Arts Center, constructed in 1969, is a 127,397 GSF, four-story building that houses performance art programs such as music and theater. The Physics Building, constructed in 1966, is a 61,079 GSF, four-story building that houses physics and nanotech programs. Pine Bush, constructed in 1966, is a 96,692 GSF, five story building that is being renovated to house the School of Public Health. A comprehensive roof scan conducted in 2022 determined multiple areas of water infiltration at each building. In addition, the roofs are at the end or nearing the end of their warranty periods. The Project will replace entire roofing systems including EPDM membrane, insulation, and all other components at each of the above buildings. The Project will also remove and/or replace various ancillary items on the roofs including decommissioned condensing units and lightning protection systems. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code requirements. The construction value is estimated at approximately $20,063,000.
