The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Replace Roofs-Various Buildings project at State University of New York at Binghamton. The Project is the replacement of roofs at the Garage, Physical Facilities, Central Heating Plant, and Warehouse. The Garage, constructed in 1960, is an 8,450 GSF one-story building that serves as the campus' main garage for facilities vehicles. Physical Facilities and Physical Facilities North, constructed in 1960 and 2003 respectively, is a 41,716 GSF two-story building with multiple roof areas that houses the physical plant, design, and construction offices. The Warehouse building, constructed in 1965, is a 9,880 GSF one-story building that houses storage of supplies and equipment for the University. The Central Heating Plant, constructed in 1966, is a 68,786 GSF, five-story building that serves as the campus' main heating plant. A comprehensive roof scan conducted in 2022 determined multiple water infiltration issues at all buildings. The entire roofing system is to be replaced including membrane, insulation, and all other components of the roofing system. Existing parapets may require modifications. Ancillary work including replacing skylights, providing safety tie offs, and concrete repair is also included. Work at the Garage and Warehouse includes removal of EPDM roofing and metal edging on mostly open roof areas. The EPDM roofs over the Physical Facilities building and Physical Facilities North include multiple roof levels and coordination with clerestory glazing, large mechanical equipment on dunnage, and skylights. The EPDM roofs over the Central Heating Plant include multiple roof levels, and coordination with numerous mechanical equipment of various sizes, steel dunnage, ductwork, and moveable and fixed railing systems.
