The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Reconstruct Swimming Pool Area – Orvis Student Activity Center project at the Alfred State College of Technology, State University of New York. The Orvis Student Activity Center, constructed in 1969, is a 72,929 GSF, two-story building originally designed as student center. The building has not undergone renovations since its construction. The Project will renovate the swimming pool area to create open, flat-floor recreational gym space. Interior renovations include structural reinforcement of subsoil damaged by pool leaks, filling in the pool basin with structural foam, removing the concrete bleachers and replacing the floor slab in the entire area. The pool equipment pit under the bleacher area will be decked over to expand flat floor space to the west of the gym. Interior ADA access will be upgraded by opening up walls at the south entrance corridor. Interior access to the lean-to storage shed will be created, and the shed re-roofed. The project upgrades finishes and lighting on a functional level. Storage closets will be added along the west side of where the bleachers are removed. Mechanical systems will be upgraded to provide air conditioning. The Project includes the removal of hazardous materials and will provide upgrades to meet current code and ADA requirements. The construction value is estimated to be approximately $6,415,000.
